Born and raised in Kamuela on the Big Island of Hawaii, Tyson is grateful to be serving in the community that raised him. Tyson graduated from Kealakehe High School in 2005 and immediately moved to Phoenix, Arizona to attend Universal Technical Institute. There he received an Associates of Occupational Studies Degree in Automotive Diesel and Industrial Technology.
Deciding to further his education prior to entering the workforce field, Tyson also studied under the Ford Motor Company Technician Specialty Training Program. After clocking in hours of training, he was then certified as a Ford Technical Specialist in 2007.
Tyson was nominated for Alpha Beta Kappa Honors Society and also named on the Director's List. These achievements, along with his exceptional GPA and attendance rates allowed him to be selected as one of 16, out of the 2500 then-current students to be placed in the Audi manufactures training program. After approximately four months and 480 clocked hours of manufacture specific training, Tyson was then selected by Audi of Henderson management to become a part of their new dealership service team.
Residing in Henderson, Nevada, he spent two years serving the Findlay Automotive Group at the Henderson Audi dealership workshop as a Technical Specialist Master Certified Technician. There he honed his skills as an automotive technician being subjected to a multitude of high-line manufacture systems and programs.
Missing the ocean dearly, Tyson decided to relocate back home to the Big Island in 2009. After employment at a couple local automotive workshops on the Island, he found there were certain aspects of the local businesses that he thought could be improved upon. This is when the decision was made (along with the help of friends and family) to start an automotive repair facility, and thus, Horizon Automotive LLC was born in 2010.
